Greenvale, NY, Jan. 13, 2016 – Thanks to a heartfelt gesture from Apple Industries, dozens of little kids with serious health issues got great big smiles on their faces during the Dec. 28 holiday party at Sunrise Day Camp in Little Neck, NY – the place “where children with cancer find a new beginning every day” (sunrisedaycamp.org).

Apple provided a Face Place Photo2Go Photo Booth (set on free play) to help brighten up the organization’s holiday party. Children lined up all day long to have their photos taken in the portable booth.

“Our kids loved Photo2Go and it really added to an amazing and memorable day,” said Sunrise assistant director Dan Silver. Parents and staff had a ball with the booth too — as numerous snapshots from the party clearly attest. “It was a great way to commemorate a very spectacular holiday party for all of our kids,” said Silver.

Face Place at SunriseAllen Weisberg, CEO of Apple Industries, said the company was proud and honored to provide a bit of holiday joy to these children and their families.

“It touches all of our hearts to think of the brave battle these kids, their brothers and sisters, and their parents are fighting every day,” said Weisberg. “Our Face Place Photo Booths are all about creating happy and memorable moments, and I can’t think of a better time or place – or a more suitable group of people – to make that fun goal into a happy reality. We salute Sunrise Day Camp for the fantastic work they do and we’re delighted to think that we have contributed in even a small way.”

The Sunrise Association runs what it describes as “the world’s only dedicated day camps for children with cancer and their siblings, completely free of charge.” Providing memorable summers since 2006 for children ages 31⁄2–16, Sunrise Day Camps bring the simple pleasures of childhood back to kids struggling with cancer. The camps transform months of loneliness and isolation into summers filled with sunshine, laughter and happiness while allowing the children to continue their medical treatment and enjoy the comfort and safety of their own homes at night. The organization is affiliated with 21 renowned hospitals and medical centers.

Despite its impressively low weight (just 400 lbs.) and ease of transport (check out those built-in wheels!), Photo2Go is a full-sized unit featuring all the trademark Face Place technology, from touchscreen navigation to video and audio recording, custom borders and backgrounds, and much more.
